2018 Tee Ball Bat Update: Make sure you're ready for the upcoming Tee Ball season. As of January 1, 2018, USA Baseball will have a new method for measuring bat performance when testing youth bats. While Tee Ball regulations will not change, all Tee Ball bats will require the USA Baseball Tee Ball mark. New 2018 Tee Ball bats will include the mark and be ready for play, while select older models without this mark can be made legal for the new season with the purchase of a USABat Tee Ball Sticker from the USA Baseball website.
Most tee ball bats are 24, 25 or 26 inches in length. Every bat has a drop and weight associated with it, which vary by bat. A bat's drop is its length minus its weight. For example, say the bat is 25 inches long and weighs 15 ounces. By subtracting 15 from 25, you get a drop of 10. Bats with a drop of 10 (-10) are heavier, while bats with a drop of 13 (-13) are lighter.
