Find the Right Baseball Bat for You

For most players, finding the right bat depends on two basic factors: Your strength and your hitting style. Learn more about what material and bat construction is right for you.

Baseball Bat Material

Composite bats provide optimal balance and a large sweet spot. This lightweight material increases swing speed and minimizes bat vibration.

Aluminum alloy delivers a stronger, thinner bat walls for more "pop" off the bat. Aluminum bats constructed with a double alloy layer offer added durability and power.

Composite alloy, or hybrid bats, are comprised of lightweight material in the handle and a durable aluminum alloy in the barrel. Hybrid bats reduce handle vibration, while maintaining "pop" and performance in the barrel.

Wood baseball bats are great for the cage. These bats provide authentic feel and sound, and are more easily customized to match your swing mechanics.

Softball bats for both slow pitch and fastpitch are built in composites and basic alloys, which provide seamless balance and a better controlled swing motion.

Baseball Bat Construction

Barrel Size is determined by the diameter around the bat. The longer the bat, the larger the sweet spot, the spot that releases maximum energy for fastest ball speed. Smaller barrel diameter lightens weight for faster swing speed.

Grip is the covering on the handle of your baseball bat. Rubber grips absorb extra shock when the ball makes contact with the bat. Leather or synthetic leather grips offer a strengthened feel for added contact with the bat. Some bats come with a specialized cushioned grip, which minimizes bat vibrations.

Drop is the bat's length-to-weight ratio, or the bat's "minus number." This factor is defined as the difference of the bat's weight, minus its length. Wood bats and slow pitch softball bats are not defined by drop. Consult your league guidelines, different leagues require different drops for legal play.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We recommend that you receive approval from your local league before removing the wrapper from your bat.
