Ski Pants & Snow Bibs Buying Guide
Ski Bibs vs. Ski Pants
Ski pants fit like standard, everyday pants with either a zip fly or an elastic waistband. Ski pants are a great option if you prefer the fit and comfort of regular pant styles but they may be less secure than snow bibs and may allow snow in your pants if you take a spill on the slopes.
Snow bibs fit like overalls and are secured to your body with suspenders. Snow bibs are designed with more fabric than snow pants to provide extra warmth and keep your pants in place, however, ski bibs can be more difficult to remove.
Insulated Ski Pants & Snow Pants
Choose the level of ski pants insulation based on your preference and how cold your legs might get on the slopes.
Insulated ski pants add warmth while helping protect from rain, snow and wind. Most styles of insulated ski pants have synthetic insulation to provide extra warmth.
Uninsulated snow and ski pants have a thin lining to provide a small amount of additional warmth. This style of pants creates warmth without adding too much bulk, and is a great option if you prefer to layer your lower body.
Unlined ski pants have no extra insulation and are a good choice for backcountry skiing.
